We collaborated with Minwashin, an organization bringing together cultural knowledge holders, creators, and allies of the Anicinabe Nation, on the exhibition NiN. Created as part of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, the exhibition brings together Anicinabe creators and their allies to celebrate the strength and beauty of Anicinabemowin, the Anicinabe language. This collaboration resulted in two interactive installations: ODE and MITCICOK.

MITCICOK is an interactive installation that allows visitors to discover Anicinabemowin through sound and image. This language is deeply visual and reflects the Anicinabe worldview. Closely tied to the land, it emerged from the observation of nature and embodies a relationship of respect between humans and their environment.

Visitors are invited to pronounce words in Anicinabemowin. These are simultaneously translated into images, revealing the visual construction of the words. By activating different illustrations, participants compose mosaics that reveal elements of the Anicinabe worldview.

ODE, the heart, is an immersive sound and light experience unfolding within a circular space. Upon entering, a faint glow appears, like embers at the center of the room. Through the movements of participants, light gradually reveals the words inscribed all around, accompanied by a soundscape evoking the cycle of life.

The circular wall is composed of hundreds of red ribbons forming a vibrant textile surface. These ribbons were created through collaborative workshops with youth from Anicinabe communities. The installation becomes a space of transmission and continuity, where the ribbons carry hopes, dreams, and visions shared by the communities.
